Kevin Darwish posted a video on his YouTube channel on Wednesday (10) documenting the fire that occurred during the Formula Drift Long Beach Media Day in the middle of a ride in a Mustang RTR drift car driven by professional driver James Deane.

The footage shows the journey starting innocently but quickly turning frightening as smoke appeared under the hood. Within seconds, the smoke turned into flames, and the fire began to penetrate the cabin.

In the video, Deane can be seen pressing what appears to be the fire suppression system button as soon as the fire started, briefly extinguishing the flames.

However, less than a second later, the fire became stronger than the firewall could handle. At this point, Darwish and Deane begin to crawl out of their respective seats, climbing over the cage and exiting the car. Fortunately, both emerged relatively unscathed from the incident.
